HABITATION IN TRANSIT - Conceptual Project

Conceptually set within the fertile yet largely underused landscape of the Jordan Valley, the proposal introduces a series of mobile structures conceived as temporary dwellings for farmers and their families. In a context where access to land and the ability to build permanent homes is restricted for many Palestinian communities, the project explores mobility as a way to enable presence without fixed construction. Some units function as overnight shelters within cultivated fields, while others move along the disused railway line between the Dead Sea and the Allenby Bridge. The proposal imagines these mobile follies as a practical alternative for families seeking to sustain their livelihoods from the land, offering an adaptable form of inhabitation shaped by the realities of the territory.
